The governing body of the City of Hartford consists of a mayor and city council with nine alderpersons from three aldermanic districts. The city council also employs help of a city administration to run the daily operations of the government.

The Hartford Police Department consists of 24 sworn police officers and 10 civilian employees, and the Hartford Fire Department has two full-time professionals on staff and 60 paid on call professionals that currently serve our fire and ems station. EMT’s also staff the station on weekends with two 3-person 24-hour shifts.
